Concrete Floors
in Gisborne

A floor gets walked on, parked on and worked on every day, so flatness and finish matter more here than anywhere else on a property. We pour garage, shed, workshop and utility floors across Gisborne and Tairāwhiti — power-floated hard and smooth, or broomed where grip matters. Levels are set before the truck arrives, not chased afterwards. Ask about a concrete floor.

01

Flat enough to work on

Screeded to level and power-floated, so trolleys roll, shelving sits square and water goes where you put the fall.

02

A surface that stays put

A hard-floated, properly cured floor resists dusting and wear from tyres, machinery and daily traffic far better than a rushed finish.

03

Ready for what goes on top

Tell us if the floor is being sealed, coated or left raw and we finish it to suit — the wrong finish makes a coating fail.

Straight answers

What is a power-floated floor?

Once the concrete has stiffened enough to walk on, a powered float works the surface hard and smooth. It gives a denser, tougher, more dust-resistant floor than hand finishing, which is why it is the standard for sheds and garages.

Can you pour a floor inside an existing building?

Often, yes — it comes down to access for the truck or pump and how much prep can be done inside. That is the first thing we check at the site visit.

Do I need a moisture barrier under the floor?

If anything moisture-sensitive is going on the floor — coatings, timber, stored goods — then yes, and we allow for it in the build-up. We will tell you when we think you need one.

Can the floor be sealed or coated later?

Yes, but the finish has to suit the coating, so tell us at quote stage. A floor finished for a coating and a floor finished to be left bare are not finished the same way.
